Anticor report: a "set-up by the opposition" for Hyères mayor Jean-Pierre Giran

Anticor report: a "set-up by the opposition" for Hyères mayor Jean-Pierre Giran

" Four or five years after phone tapping and three years after a dismissal judgment, they want to revive the case just a few months before the election. It's mind-boggling! "

Frankly furious to learn this Tuesday that the Anticor Association had submitted a report denouncing an illegal taking of interests and favoritism in the allocation of the "Petit Bain" beach lot, Jean-Pierre Giran believes that this action "only aims to cause harm."

" This is a setup by the opposition to create a buzz. There are people who are incapable of winning at the polls and only hope to win an election by dissuading other candidates from running or by smearing them with every possible rumor... notwithstanding the authority of res judicata. "

The allocation of the beach lot to "Petit Bain" has in fact already been examined by the courts, recalls the mayor of Hyères, brandishing the order of dismissal signed in February 2023 .

The former delegate, who was expelled from Ceinturon beach, had in fact attacked the mayor, believing that he had not competed on equal terms with his competitors who had won the prize.

"The magistrate dismissed the accusations"

"I was implicated in a case of favoritism," sighs Jean-Pierre Giran . "There were two years of investigation, a long procedure, phone tapping and confrontations. At the end of all that, the investigating magistrate dismissed the accusations out of hand. And today, we want to start all over again for the renewal? Four years after the decision and six months before the elections? It's unbearable. Anticor is being manipulated by the opposition."

Note that one of the association's new representatives, Frédéric Bertand, was on the list in Hyères by William Seemuler during the 2020 election (and in the one merged with the Politi team in the second round).

A situation that Anticor's Paris headquarters accepts. "We don't prohibit our contacts from having a political past, or even from being candidates," explains Maxence Lambert, the association's legal advisor. "However, we do prohibit them from using Anticor as a tool during a campaign. In the specific case of Frédéric Bertrand, he immediately chose to withdraw from the reporting process."
